I've worked with Gerry Holder for the last 11 years, both as a co-worker and then as a diversity consultant.  As both a Human Resource Manager and as a Diversity Consultant, I've found he provides added value due to his knowledge of the construction business.  Additionally he possesses a good balanced perspective between the business needs of management and the personal needs and rights of the employees.  However, his greatest value to me has been the ability to go behind closed door and have very open, direct, challenging, give and take conversations.  This has helped me to rethink my own position as a white male and gain a deeper understanding into the value systems, expectations, and bias of people with different cultures and experiences than mine.

I worked with Jerry Holder in developing a response to an employee survey, which identified concerns regarding opportunities for women and minorities in construction. Jerry was most effective in working with our Diversity Committee to develop an action plan which helped bring closure to employee concerns.
